No new claims were created
Medisoft Problem:
No new claims were created. If you expected some to be created, check the following items:

1. The patient's case needs at least one Insurance carrier.
Do this by making sure the Policy 1 tab has a valid Insurance Carrier selected, as shown below:
2. The filter used to select transactions for claim creation may be excluding all transactions that are eligible to be placed on a claim.
3. The transaction needs at least one insurance carrier that is responsible for payment.
Having Trouble Creating Claims?
The following two messages appear when claims cannot be created:
"All the eligible charge transactions have been placed on a previous claim" - in Transaction Entry.
"No new claims were created" - in Claim Management.
To ensure that claims will be created for a specific patient:
1) Make sure the policy information in the Case record of the patient has a valid insurance carrier.
2) Make sure that the filter used to select transactions for claim creation does not exclude all transactions that are eligible to be printed on a claim.
3) The transaction must have at least one insurance carrier that is responsible for payment. See note below.
4) Edit the Procedure Code being used as the transaction and make sure that "Patient Only Responsible" is not checked off in the Procedure/Payment/Adjustment window, General tab. In this same window, make sure there is no information in "Don't Bill To Insurance" or "Only Bill To Insurance" - these should normally be blank.
5) The CPT code must be a "Charge" type of procedure. (This could be procedure charge, lab charge or product charge.)
6) Make sure that the patient's Case record, Personal tab, is NOT marked as "Cash Case." For some versions of MediSoft, this step is not needed.
NOTE: If transactions were entered before the policy information was filled in, the transactions will need to be resaved. From the Transaction Entry window, double-click and save each transaction.
