Transaction Entry - Payments, Adjustments, and Comments Grid
The Payments, Adjustments, and Comments grid of Transaction Entry displays any payments, adjustments, and comments you have added to the patient's case. The buttons also let you create transactions, delete transactions, apply payments or adjustments to charges, and add transaction documentation. You can add and remove fields in the grid by clicking the grid modification button in the top left corner. See Grid Columns.
NOTE: If you are entering a comment, you must have a comment code set up in the Procedure/Payment/Adjustment list. The code type must be Comment.
Sort the columns in the Transaction entry by clicking a column header to sort the grid by that value (Medisoft Advanced and Medisoft Network Professional feature). The default sorting pattern is based on date and sorts in a descending order and the last sort selection is also saved for next use. Apply: Click this button to apply payments and adjustments to charges. See Apply Payment to Charges or Apply Adjustment to Charges.
If the Force payments to be applied option is checked in Program Options, Data Entry tab, the program does not let you close the Transaction Entry window without applying a payment or adjustment. If it is not checked, the program suggests that you apply the payment or adjustment but won’t force you to do so before closing the Transaction Entry window. See Program Options - Data Entry Tab.
New: Click this button to create a new payment or adjustment.
Delete: Click this button to delete the selected payment.
Note: Click this button to add transaction documentation to the selected record.
From this screen, you then:
New Charge
New Payment, Adjustments, Comments
Click Apply
