MediSoft File Repair Protocol

Look at restored data files

delete temporary files (ohtv.*, *.tmp, mwlock.*)

delete any paradox files (*.db, *.x*, *.y*, *.px, *.val, *.mb)

Rename/delete mwsec.adt

Open practice in MediSoft

Try to duplicate error

If 7016 error

-Run adtfix.exe

-check tables in ARC32

Open tables in ARC32

-Always check

-Create index for ‘case number’

-Sort by case number and check top and bottom of file

-delete any blank, corrupted or 0 cases

-Create index for ‘claim status 1’, ‘claim status 2’ and ‘claim status 3’

-sort by all 3, checking top and bottom of file in each column

-delete any corrupted records.

-Change blank or invalid status’ to proper status 0 to 7 (KB article 9892)

-Create index for ‘entry number’

-Sort by entry number and look at top & bottom

-delete corrupted or blank records

-scroll through table

-delete any corrupted or blank records

-delete any corrupt or invalid records, change blanks if possible

*Also check any other tables that might be having errors with.

Test the repaired data for further errors

-Open in MediSoft and run file maintenance (rebuild and pack data)

-add 2 charges

-print the claim (display to screen)

-delete charges & claim once it displays

-add 2 appointments, open the appointment list

-delete the appointments

-add a chart number

-delete the chart

-add 2 cases

-delete the cases

-add 2 deposits, open the apply screen for 1 of them

-delete the deposits

-print reports in MediSoft

Balancing Problems

-If the client has specific accounts with inaccurate balances, may be caused by:

orphan transactions/cases

deleted procedure codes

blank procedure codes *Numbers 1 and 2 can be taken care of with Medidoc.exe. Number 3 should have been taken care of in the file repair steps looking at MWTRN.ADT.
