Ctrl+Backspace deletes the entire word, Alt+Backspace undoes.
Ctrl+Del deletes the word to the right of the cursor.
Shift+Arrow direction to highlight one letter at a time. Ctrl+Shift+Arrow to highlight word at a time.
Ctrl-z undoes
Install a very small Linux distribution like Puppy Linux on a USB stick, then you can use it to access file on a hard drive without having to boot into the operating system installed on the hard drive. Handy if your operating system is irreparably messed up and you want to try salvage your files.
(Shift)+(Ctrl)+T (opens last closed tab on Firefox)
Ctrl+T is a new tab, Ctrl+W closes the current tab, Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn will change tabs.

In Vista and Win7, hitting tab while renaming one file will take you to the next file down. Shift-tab goes up.

Windows + D again restores the windows you had up.
CtrL + Enter when typing a webpage auto adds the www and .com
Shift + Enter adds www and .net
CtrL + Shift + Enter adds www and .gov
CTRL+S I am now in the habit of doing this constantly when working on a powerpoint, word, document.
