Hot fix and Service packs are updates to the Medisoft, Office Hours Pro, Reports Pro, and EDI applications. Similar to how your computer gets "Windows Updates", McKesson is constantly updating their products to improve them.
ONLY select the service packs for the versions of software you are currently running. For example, if you have Medisoft 15, you should install Medisoft 15 Service Pack 2; if you had Medisoft 11, you should install Service Pack 4, and ONLY install service packs for the programs you have. For example, if you don't have Office Hours Pro, do not install the hotfix for it.
If you try to install a service pack for a version of Medisoft you don't have, it won't work and could cause data corruption.
Note: All these service packs work with Medisoft Basic, Advanced, and Network Professional.
Medisoft Version 16 Service Pack 1 Hot Fix Available
A hot fix release for Medisoft Version 16 (v16) Service Pack 1 is now available. The hot fix can be installed directly over Medisoft v16 (in other words, you don’t have to install SP1 before installing the hot fix).
Use the following links to download the hot fix:
* Make sure that everyone is logged out of Medisoft and Office Hours.
* Make sure you are logged in as Administrator to the computers
* Download the appropriate service packs to your computer (or network drive)
* Perform File Maintenance to reindex and pack the data.
* Make sure you have a current backup of your data. (you should be doing this on a regular basis anyway)
* Check Windows Update to make sure you have recent updates, especially the .NET updates
* Give yourself at least 15 minutes for each service pack on each computer
* Reboot after installing the service pack.
* For Network Pro users, be sure to install service packs on the server first, then every computer
* After you install a service pack, the first time you open Medisoft it will take a few minutes to upgrade the database
