Medisoft Utilities Repair Practice Data

Medisoft Utilities Repair Practice Data

The Repair Practice Data utility repairs datasets that have missing or mismatched data. Any files that cannot be recovered will be deleted and recreated. The process can result in a loss of data.

The utility first searches the data dictionary associated with a practice for any tables that are not correctly bound to the data dictionary. For any free tables that are found, the utility will try to add the tables back into the dictionary without any data loss. The utility, however, does not convert the data structure; if a version 9 table is copied into the directory, the utility may not recreate the structure properly, which will result in Medisoft and Office Hours errors. The utility will delete, recreate, and rebind any tables that are bound to a different dictionary. All data in these recreated tables will be lost.
