Medisoft Utilities Export Data Records
The Export Data Records utility lets you export data from a Medisoft practice. You can pick and choose the tables and records that are exported. The utility then exports the data into an encrypted file that can be imported into another Medisoft practice.
To open the utility, highlight Export Data Records in the Utility tree of the Medisoft Utilities window and click OK. A backup warning appears. If you want to make a backup, click Backup Data Now. To continue without making a backup, click Continue w/o Backup. The Export Data Records window opens.
Header
Export File Path and Name: Enter a path and name for the export file. Click the Find button to browse to a folder. When entering the file name, you do not have to enter an extension. The program automatically adds the appropriate extension.
Password: If you want a password on the export file, enter it here. When you import the file, you will have to enter the password exactly as you enter it here.
Left Panel
Tables: This section lists all the tables available for export. Check the box next to the name to include a table in the export file. You can also use the buttons below to select the tables you want to include in the export file.
Select: Click this button to include the table in the export file.
Previous: Click this button to move to the previous table in the list.
Next: Click this button to move to the next table in the list.
Skip: Click this button to skip the next table in the list.
Right Panel
Records: When you select a table on the left, all the records in the file appear to the right. You can use the CTRL or the SHIFT keys to select multiple records in the list.
NOTE: When you have the Diagnosis Code or Procedure Code tables selected, an Exportable column displays. That column tells you whether the diagnosis or procedure code is able to be exported. The diagnosis and procedure codes you have imported via Codes On Disk are not exportable. The diagnosis and procedure codes you have entered manually are exportable.
Select All/Deselect All: Click this button to select all records if none are currently selected. If any records are selected, you can click this button to deselect all of them.
Buttons
Export: Click this button to export the selected records to a file.
Close: Click this button to exit the window.
